A treat for your skin

I love serums, ampoules, treatments, you name it. I usually layer 1-3 different ones during my morning and evening skincare routine. What I'm looking for is extra moisture, glow, help to my eczema, correction to my hyper pigmentation and also refreshing experience and a little bit of pampering.

serums and skincare for dry, mature skin

In this post I go through eight different serums, treatments and ampoules that I love and use regularly. Some are old friends that I've repurchased several times, some are newer ones.

Ahava: Dead sea osmoter eye concentrate

I have used the osmoter concentrate for face and this is now my second eye concentrate. What this does, is that it softens my skin and feels like it nourishes it too. It's packed with amazing ingredients like Dead sea water, cucumber, witch hazel, caffeine and aloe just to mention few. It is a pricey one, so I usually wait till I have a coupon or some kind of sale to purchase it. This eye concentrate used to be in a bottle with dropper but is nowadays sold in tube. It has three small metal roller balls that help to apply the product and also massage the skin and help to depuff the area. This concentrate works well with my moisturizer and I haven't had any problems with peeling. Also makeup applies easily on top of it. The formula is thin enough, so it absorbs to the skin pretty fast. But it's not too liquidy. I usually apply it with just one wipe and then tap the product with my finger. I can see the difference in my skin when I use it, so this one will stay in my routine.

Evolve: Hyaluronic eye complex

The other eye serum in this post is this one from Evolve. I have just recently found this brand but I'm already impressed. They have wide selection of scrubs, creams, cleansers, treatments, balms, etc. This serum comes in a small glass bottle which has a metal roller ball as an applicator. Serum is pretty liquidy and slippery, so it is very easy to apply too much. One wipe is enough and still you get quite a lot. Considering, that you get only 10ml, you use this up pretty fast. There is positive side as well. This serums feels really soothing and moisturizing and you can also see from the ingredients, that there's lot of great ones. I use this when I want to make my skin feel and look more fresh and awake. This does have a slight sticky feeling coming from the hyaluronic acid which I don't mind. There's no problems with layering moisturizer on top or applying makeup. I have noticed, that my under eye area doesn't get that dry looking during the day when I've used this in the morning.

Mossa: Glow cocktail

This glow cocktail is an energy bomb! There's a strong citrusy scent which comes from essential oils, not perfume. I love to use this in the morning, especially when I feel extra tired. One thing I need to say is, that this is prone to peeling if you layer it with certain products. It doesn't do it every time, so you just need to find the perfect combination. There is a slight feeling of a film too. I don't mind it, but some don't want that in the product. Because of that, this is better to be used in the evening. As a bonus feature this serum has also anti-pigmentation qualities that come from cloud berry and quince. Both of these are also very nourishing incredients. I can see, that this glow cocktail makes my skin more bright and healthy looking. Who wouldn't want that?

Huxley oil essence, mossa glow cocktail, skincare, serum

Huxley: Oil essence - essence-like oil-like

This oil essence is an interesting one. I've almost finished my first one and realized that I would want to repurchase it. I might just do that, that's how much I love it. It has similar texture as Ahava osmoter concentrate. It is more to the thicker side of serums but it absorbs to the skin very easily. It makes my skin feel really soft and nourished. I wouldn't say that this gives extra moisture though. Even though there is word "oil" in the name, it doesn't feel oily at all. This is one of those products, that just does something great. You can't put your finger to what, but you just want to keep using it. There is pretty strong scent which is same in every Huxleys product. At first I loved it, now I would prefer that it would be milder. It's a good scent, just a bit too potent. If you want to soften your skin and nourish it, this could be a worth to try.

The Body Shop: Drops of light

This serum is one of my old favorites. I think this is third or fourth one. It has pretty oily feeling even though there's not that much oils in it. I absolutely love using this. There is a fresh scent and the feeling on my skin is just heavenly. My skin feels alive and ready for the day. This is definitely my favourite every time when my skin is dry or dull. It works beautifully under my makeup. If I know that I'm going to use more matte or full coverage foundation, I make sure to use this before it. What they promise, is that you get healthy and glowy skin which looks more even in color. I can say that this really does all that. Ever since I've started to use this, I've got compliments on my skin. I think that says enough! Oh, the Drops of light spf 50 is also amazing!

It’s skin: LI effector with licorice

I love the idea of targeted treatments. This line offers several different products for different needs. It is a korean dupe to japanese V10 but as it is just a fraction of price, I don't mind. I purchased this licorice one, because it's soothing qualities. Licorice is known for calming irritated skin. It can be because of sun, wind or cold. I use this on my eczema as well as if I've been outside all day. It is also great one if you love sauna but your skin not so much.

Leegeehaam: Vita propolis ampoule

Oh boy. If I could bathe in this, I would. For a long time I've believed in the benefits of honey. Now I wanted to try propolis and it's been worth the effort. This is again one of those products that just does something magical even though I can't tell exactly what. My skin feels much more calm, strong and protected. I have also used a moisturizer of this same line and I absolutely love it. At first I thought that this is way too pricey as the package is pretty small. I thought that I need to use this regularly as the serums. Luckily I realized pretty soon, that this is truly an ampoule you use only when needed. I use this similarly as that licorice treatment. Both are great when my skin is irritated or unbalanced.
